Risograph print
The spas of Budapest are important for "Budapesters". When I was a child my parents took me to spas very early, those times I didn't care about the ornamental I've just enjoyed the pools. Unfortunately Hungary has not got a sea only the Balaton lake we have, that is the reason why we love to cool ourselves down in the spas and open air spas in the hot summer days. The Hungarians have a huge bath culture - thanks to the Turks - that is resulted we built a lot of charming baths. Our favorite room at our home is the bath room. I am a huge fan of these architectural styles of spas and I like to go to swim, to relax, to read books there. If you ever have visited in the Széchenyi Bath or the Gellért you know what I am talking about.
This picture is a risoprint, but what is the risograph printing?
It's a digital printing process from the initial stage of the digital-printing form the late eighties. An environmentally friendly process that is very similar to silk-screen print. The press only uses recycled papers and the risograph itself uses banana fiber master screens and soya based inks – the discrepancy of the colour coverage gives a certain charm to these prints. This machine is able to press only one colour at a time and the soya based inks are only available in very few tones. But these bounds give more room for art experimenting. Nowadays artists like to use it for posters, limited edition pictures and fanzines.
