Risograph print
These kind of balconies was built in the old Jewish district of Budapest. Every portal is different with different lives and styles we are living in them nowadays. In these houses the life is sparkling and the people are still connected. It's an interesting country life in the middle of the city that what I wanted to show.
This picture is a risoprint, but what is the risograph printing?
It's a digital printing process from the initial stage of the digital-printing form the late eighties. An environmentally friendly process that is very similar to silk-screen print. The press only uses recycled papers and the risograph itself uses banana fiber master screens and soya based inks – the discrepancy of the colour coverage gives a certain charm to these prints. This machine is able to press only one colour at a time and the soya based inks are only available in very few tones. But these bounds give more room for art experimenting. Nowadays artists like to use it for posters, limited edition pictures and fanzines.
